WESTBURY Lions Club, which is bringing joy to local children with its Santa float, is looking forward to 2022, with plans already being made for local fundraising events.
Club president, Tracy Sheppard said, “We are well into our Christmas season now with some fantastic support from the community who are loving seeing The Santa float out and about, including outside the supermarkets on Saturdays. All-in-all, we are having a great end to 2021.
“Our year didn’t really kick off until September and the vehicle show, which far exceeded everybody’s expectations due to people wanting to get out, and of course the weather was fantastic. We would like to say a huge thanks to the sponsors of the show Byjama, Cult Status Cars, DypenSys, Polar Truck and Van.
“For 2022, we have a lot of plans ahead. Our car boot sales will be starting back up, also our fabulous Donkey Derby, while new events for us will be a family fun dog show, Easter egg hunt, senior citizens’ party, and maybe a few other things in between!
“All the Lions would like to thank the continued support from the local community, which makes what we do all worthwhile.”
