Westbury Library will be celebrating during the week leading up to National Libraries Day, which takes place on Saturday 7th February.
Events will include quizzes and prizes for children and adults, A Harry Potter Book Night, a Family History Online session using Ancestry.co.uk and a talk by Sally Hendry on the tragic Victorian murder in Bratton.

Ever wondered how they do it on the BBC’s ‘Who Do You Think You Are?’ Come along to Westbury Library on Tuesday 3rd February 10.00am-12.00pm, for this free beginner’s introduction to tracing your family history online using Ancestry.co.uk. That same evening, 3rd February, at 7.00pm, Sally Hendry will give a talk on the true tale of a tragic Victorian mother. Rebecca Smith was hanged in 1849 for poisoning her own babies. Her tragic story made national news. Sally Hendry will unpick Rebecca’s story and take a look at her life and the times in which she lived. Spaces are limited so book your FREE place at the Library in advance.
Join in the celebrations for the first ever national Harry Potter Book Night on Thursday 5th February, 5.30-6.30pm. Share the wonder of the magical stories with lots of fun and games. Dress code will be wizarding robes, Harry Potter character fancy dress or your best Muggle attire!
