WESTBURY’S West Wilts Youth Sailing Association (WWYSA) is offering adult sailing courses later this year.
The sailing club will host an Adult Sailing Assessment and Coaching Day in September, followed by an Adult Sailing Course in October.
WWYSA Membership Secretary Emily Abbott said, “We have found our adult courses very popular and are offering this day to help people who may already have a bit of sailing tuition or experience behind them to gain a refresher and some individual coaching, thus encouraging them to return to the water and maybe follow it up with the full adult course if they feel they need to.”
The Adult Sailing Assessment and Coaching Day will be on Saturday 23rd September. The cost of the course is £50, which includes all safety equipment plenty of hot drinks. The day will run from 9.30am until around 4pm.
On Saturday 14th, 21st, 28th October and Saturday 4th November the sailing club is inviting adults to learn the RYA Adult levels 1 + 2 syllabus.
“Several people who have done this in the past tell us it is something they always wanted to do and with our help have taken up a new hobby,” said Emily.
“Many of those people have since come back to help us as volunteers to encourage the children in their learning and waterside confidence.”
The Adult Sailing Course costs £250, which includes all safety equipment and certification. The day will run from 9am until around 4pm.

Anyone wanting to do both the Assessment Day and the Adult Course will be refunded the fee for the Assessment Day.
