ONE of the services that Crosspoint provides in Westbury and surrounding areas is a counselling service for adults and young people.
Based on increasing demand for this service, Crosspoint is now planning to expand the current team of five counsellors, with the addition of one new qualified counsellor and two trainee counsellors. This will then enable them to reduce the waiting times for people to access counselling from the current four to six-week period.
If you think that you or a friend/family member would benefit from counselling, then email Karen Ashman at the White Horse Health Centre (k.ashman@nhs.net), or email Crosspoint directly (info@crosspoint-westbury.co.uk) for a referral form. Please note that the service is completely confidential, and details will only be shared with those who need to know to provide this service.
Could you volunteer at Crosspoint? Kevin Fairman, the chair of Crosspoint is appealing for more people to help welcome people to counselling sessions.
Kevin said, “At Crosspoint, we often need more volunteers to keep offering this support in our local community. We are looking for volunteers to support the counselling sessions. This involves providing a welcome reception to clients when they arrive and leave.
“Otherwise, it’s a quite a quiet role, but really important for us as we return to in-person sessions and increase the number of counselling spaces available. If you feel you may be able to help, then please contact us on 01373-824330 or info@crosspoint-westbury.co.uk.”
