Annual charity fun run to support local good causes

The annual fun run organised by Westbury Lions Club is set to return next month to raise funds for local good causes.

The event will return to The White Horse Country Park on Sunday 4th October at 10am.

Runners will take on a mixed-terrain 10km loop around the boundaries of the park, towards Bratton and back along Capps Lane towards the finish, while raising funds for local causes.

“What makes Westbury Lions unique in the charity world is that, as a member, we pay dues to cover our administration, all the monies raised go to good causes,” said race coordinator and Lion Jarvis Macdonald.

“This is different to a number of the more well-known charities that use a large percentage of monies raised to cover expenses.”

The 10K Fun Run is one of many events that the Westbury Lions carry out throughout the year to raise funds to support good causes in the local community. Others include the Donkey Derby, the Easter Egg Hunt, the Old Folks Party, the quarterly quiz and the month-long Christmas Carol Float in December.
