The 100th anniversary of the First World War armistice was marked at Yarnbrook Chapel.
Organisers said, “On Saturday, an Armistice morning was held with displays of the 18 men from Heywood, Hawkeridge and Yarnbrook who fell during the First World War . After the names were read, the Last Post was played by Paul Jones and two minutes’ silence followed.
“On Sunday afternoon, a Remembrance Service was held, during which a new memorial to the 18 men was unveiled.
“There is no memorial in Yarnbrook; the men of Heywood and Hawkeridge were remembered on a plaque in Heywood Church, which was moved to North Bradley Church when it closed. So we felt it was right to put a new memorial in the chapel at Yarnbrook.”
