There’s a new splash of colour in Westbury – literally. The Fearless and Fun Art Studio has officially launched with a mission to make creativity more accessible and enjoyable for everyone – regardless of experience or skill.
The studio is the brainchild of local artist and workshop leader Kim Heath and offers the chance to take part in relaxed, informal art sessions designed to support wellbeing and self-expression.
“The workshops aren’t formal classes,” said Kim. “Instead, they’re safe, welcoming spaces where people can express themselves, explore abstract techniques and create something unique – without fear of getting it ‘wrong’.”
Kim describes the approach as “art without rules”, encouraging participants to let go of perfectionism and focus on the joy of creating.
“You don’t need to be able to paint to enjoy this,” she said. “It’s not about perfection. It’s about permission – to let go, have fun, and see what happens.”
Kim began using painting as a personal wellness practice and later decided to share its benefits with others. Her workshops aim to support mental wellbeing through creativity, offering a calming alternative to the pressures of everyday life.
Workshops are small and personal, with plenty of guidance and encouragement – and no pressure.
“Whether you’re facing a blank canvas or just looking to break out of your daily routine, Fearless and Fun offers a colourful, uplifting way to reconnect with yourself and others,” said Kim.
“It’s amazing what people can create when they stop worrying about doing it right. The freedom, the smiles, the surprise – it’s all part of the magic.
“Fearless and Fun is now open for bookings, welcoming anyone curious about exploring art for joy, relaxation and the sheer fun of it. No experience needed. Just bring yourself – and maybe an apron.
“Be bold. Be playful. Be fearless!”
The studio is above the Flower Hive in Maristow Street. Sessions are on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, 10am to 1pm or 2pm to 5pm.
