THE Tidy Bratton Team is planning to give the village an extra-special Tidy Up on Friday 21st June, in preparation for being judged in Wiltshire’s ‘Best of the Best’ competition.
Bratton won the Best Kept Large Village in Wiltshire in 2023. Now the village hopes to go one better and win the Laurence Kitching award which is open to winning villages from the previous two years.
“We will meet, as usual, in the Duke car park at 10am,” said April Tarling, one of the Tidy Bratton Team. “The village is looking great, thanks to all those volunteers who meet for tidying mornings and to all those who look after different parts of the village whenever they have a moment.
“If you haven’t joined us before, why not join in this month?”
The competition is organised by the CPRE Wiltshire, the countryside charity, and the judges consider the tidiness of public areas, the absence of litter and evidence of community spirit and involvement and looks for evidence of a vibrant village which puts time and effort into its clubs and organisations.
