What the hake is happening? No, it isn’t the tsunami warning that went out, after our two Chapmanslade pantomime dames went to the seaside for a bathe! It’s this year’s Explorer Trail which is all about Under the Sea! Time to tap your innermost thoughts, and get those ideas bubbling up on a wave of enthusiasm.
“As usual we are looking for lots of inventive creations, which residents can display at their plaice or other sites in the village so that everyone taking part can navigate around on a voyage of discovery,” says the organisers. “Basically whatever floats your boat!
“So come along on Saturday 8th June and cruise around the trail, as well as enjoying food and fun at the different ports of the village being run by the Village Voice Group, The Church, Busy Bees and the School PTFA. It will all go swimmingly, so come and have a whale of a time!
“For the third year running our amazing Chapmanslade community comes together to show many displays on the theme “Under the Sea” around the village.
“The trail will take you along the perimeter of the woods and back through the village. There are a couple of kissing gates so if you are taking a pushchair you will need to lift it over.
“There will be fun activities to explore along the route, including a stop off at the Church for a Cream Tea, Stop at Busy Bees for some activities and back to the hall for a BBQ, refreshments and homemade cakes.
“So, we invite you bring along friends and family to enjoy this spectacular event! Join us for our fun and interactive Explorer Trail.
“And don’t forget to buy a ticket for our mega raffle with a top prize of £100, with lots of other prizes, too.
“All proceeds will go to Busy Bees Pre School, Chapmanslade PTFA School, Church and Village Steering Group Committee / Voice of the village.”
