BRATTON’S ‘Art in the Gardens’ returns for the third time, showcasing art displays from local artists in residents’ gardens around the village, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Organiser Lucy Ellis, moved to Bratton over 10 years ago from Melksham, after she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. As a way of thanking the residents in the village for their support, she began ‘Art in the Gardens’ in 2013.
The event showcases work by local artists, makers and crafters.
This year’s event will take place on Saturday 20th July, with 14 gardens taking part and 20 artists displaying or selling their work. Their art varies from paintings, photography, felting, sculptures, pottery, jewellery, wood turning, land art and floral art displays, by the innovation design study group.
They will also be welcoming a singing group to the gardens and a special performance from Bratton Silver Band who are also putting on their’ Lost Village of Imber’ exhibition.
The gardens will be open from 2pm-6pm and tickets are £5 each, which are available on the day from the Church Institute from 1pm onwards.
There will also be refreshments available from the Institute from 1pm, as well as craft demonstrations, garden bygones and art and plant sales. All proceeds will go to Macmillan Cancer Support, St James’ Church and the innovation design study group.
