A LOCAL accountant will be holding a charity race night in Westbury next month to raise money for the RUH cancer unit in Bath.
Sam Gooding, who runs Gooding Accounts in Westbury Leigh, will be holding the fundraiser at Leigh Park Community Centre from 7pm to 11pm on Saturday 8th October.
There will be videotaped horse races to bet on, a raffle, and an auction.
Sam says, “This is the second race night we’ve arranged in Westbury and we’re hopeful of raising more than £2,000 for Bath Cancer Unit Support Group.
“As everyone is fully aware, cancer can affect anyone and everyone and Bath Cancer Unit Support Group has worked hard to give people an opportunity of beating the disease thanks to the new Positron Scanner recently installed at Bath.
“However, the fund raising doesn’t stop there and, having seen first-hand the impact that cancer has on a family, I think it is vital that we continue to raise as much money as we can to continue the fight.”
Tickets for the event cost £5 per person to include nibbles, and a bar will be available.
To book your tickets or to donate a prize for the raffle or auction, call Sam on 07929 171338 or Marie on 07709 912661.
