WESTBURY suffered as a result of the rain as Chipping Sodbury were set a revised target of 107 in 29 overs which they duly scored.
Following a strong performance with the bat on a testing wicket Westbury managed to post 184-10 with the main contributions coming from MacDonald (36), Senneck (34) and Delina (24) on debut.
After tea, Westbury bowlers got off to a good start by taking two early wickets and 20-2 were in control. The heavens then opened and it rained for over an hour. Despite the rain both teams were keen to play but with Chipping Sodbury now only needing 107 to win from another 16 overs.
This proved to be a very straightforward proposition and they scored the runs with the loss of only one more wicket. This was a disappointing result having been in such a strong position. But, with the rules as they are, the reduced score placed Chipping Sodbury in control and they got a vital win.
