MEMBERS of Westbury Choral Society are busy preparing for the Christmas period.
Under its conductor Luke Pickett and with accompanist Rob Danter the choir will be presenting their Christmas Concert at Westbury Methodist Church on Friday December 16th. The programme will include both familiar and lesser known Christmas music including several pieces by John Rutter together with seasonal readings and congregational carols.
The choir will also be entertaining residents and friends at Watersmead Care Home on December 14th and supporting the annual Carol Festival at Imber on Saturday December 17th.
Tickets for the concert at Westbury Methodist Church on Friday December 16th cost £7 (accompanied children free) and are available from Westbury Visitor Centre, from members or at the door (subject to availability).
After a short Christmas break rehearsals will start on Wednesday January 4th for the Spring Concert in April. The main work will be Stainer’s Cruxifiction and a workshop on this work, open to the public, is planned for Saturday January 14th.
Rehearsals are held at Westbury Methodist Church from 7.30 -9.30pm. New members in all voice parts are welcome. No audition is required although some sight reading ability is helpful but not essential.
