FORMER Matravers students from the class of 1979 will be holding a school reunion next week.
Organisers are encouraging former classmates who attended the school from 1974 to 1979, to dig out old photos and come along to the Railway Inn on Saturday 21st April to reminisce about the old days.
One of the organisers, Carol Miller, said, “There are people coming from as far as Gibraltar, Canada and the USA to attend the party and some of these people haven’t seen anyone since our reunion 25 years ago when we met to celebrate all of us turning 30.
“There will be a disco playing tunes from the 70’s and 80’s, but if there is a specific song you would like to hear, do let me know. The cost of the disco is £150, which will be shared between everyone who attends the party.
“Most importantly, there will be plenty of time for people to chat and catch-up. I’ve been sent a few photos that I’ve printed off, so we can have a laugh about some of the fashions of the time!”
The reunion starts at 7pm. For anyone who would like to eat at the Railway Inn beforehand, please contact the pub directly to book.
