WESTBURY Quilters recently ran a coffee morning on Saturday May 7th at the Methodist Church on Station Road and raised over £100 for the local Blood Bikes charity.
Freewheelers Emergency Volunteer Service Blood Bikes is a charity made up of volunteers that provide a free out-of-hours motorcycle courier service to hospitals in the South West of England.
Ali Huntley, a member of Westbury Quilters, says the event was popular with local people, “It was a really good morning! We made just over £100 for the Blood Bikes, but they also had a collection bucket so I don’t know how much was raised in total.
“The banner was made by one of our ladies and given to Ray, our local contact for the Blood Bike’s. The weather was on our side and the cakes that were donated were top quality.”
Freewheelers EVS relies on charitable donations – Text BLOODBIKES 5 to 70480 to donate £5.
Westbury Quilters meet on the last Tuesday of every month, from 12.30pm to 3.30pm at the Leigh Park Community Centre.
