Wiltshire’s oldest White Horse will be on the agenda when Westbury Area Board meets on Thursday this week.
There are plans to form a community interest group covering the popular amenity areas around the White Horse hill.
Recent improvements in the area have ranged from the installation of information boards explaining the history of the county’s white horses to new bollards to prevent joyriders driving over the top of the grassed area, and new birdproof bins to ensure vermin do not scatter litter on the beauty spot.
The area board meeting which will be at Bratton’s Jubilee hall on Thursday 5th June will also have a range of interesting updates on local issues including a report from the White Horse health centre, news on funding for local projects, an update on the way youth services will run in the future, and details of the area board progress on tackling the priorities raised at the recent What Matters To You event.
Chairman Russell Hawker said, “Our area board meetings provide a great opportunity for local people to come along and find out about the issues that affect their community….everyone is very welcome to attend and find out more, meet their local councillors and have their say.”

The meeting starts at 7.00pm and there are refreshments and a chance to network from 6.30pm.
