IN DECEMBER, Abbeyfield launched its ‘Companionship’ campaign, offering free lunches for the elderly.
Abbeyfield on Bratton Road, Westbury, is offering elderly people a two-course meal free of charge, where they can come and enjoy friendly chat with their residents. This offer is continuing throughout January and February, Monday to Friday.
Abbeyfield said, “Our aim is to welcome in as many older people as we can, to make new friends.
“If you, or anyone you know, is worried about being alone over Winter, please do get in touch with Abbeyfield and join in the free events and celebrations happening right through till February.
“Companionship at Christmas relies on the goodwill and support of volunteers and donors. The events, activities and meals provided during the campaign can only be provided for free due to the additional financial and voluntary support we receive. The more money we raise and volunteers we recruit, the more older people we can help.”
If you are interested in joining the residents at Abbeyfield in Westbury, or wish to volunteer or donate, please call Jo or Julie on 01373 826779.
