Corsley Festival Choir will be performing a Christmas Concert this Sunday, 9th December, at St Margaret’s Church, Corsley.
“The first half of the concert is a performance of Hummel Mass in B – this as a rarely heard but stunning piece of choral music. In his day, Johann Nepomuk Hummel (1778-1837) was highly respected as a composer and pianist. He has the distinction of being the only full time music student of Mozart. This is a chance for music lovers to hear a rarely performed gem!
“In the second half the choir will be performing ‘chart toppers’ from the Nations Favourite Carols, including O Holy Night, Ding Dong Merrily on High, and Silent Night. The audience will have ample chance to join in!
“The concert will be held at St. Margaret’s Church Corsley and starts at 6.00pm – this is earlier than the normal start. Tickets are £12.50 for adults and £5 for children – on the door or telephone 01985 841624.
