WESTBURY town councillor Jane Russ will be holding monthly surgeries at the Sovereign Housing Association office.
The surgeries will offer local people an opportunity to speak to cllr Russ about issues in the town that they feel need bringing to the attention of the town council.
Cllr Russ said, “I went to the Sovereign Housing Association day and discovered that they have a little office on the site, where their representatives set up a drop in for residents with property or site issues. It seemed obvious to me obvious that if I could drop in too, once a month on a regular basis, then people in the area would know they could find me there if they had issues for me to bring to the Town Council.
“It’s easy as a councillor to seem remote from the people who live in your ward and I want them to feel that they have a connection with the council, me.
“If we want Westbury to thrive we have to create a town that people want to invest their time and effort in. I am not sure when the first surgery will be but The White Horse News will be the first to know and it will also be flagged at the Sovereign office.”
