HELEN and Greg Bolwell have raised £600 for the RUH Forever Friends Appeal and have plans to raise even more money for various charities.
The couple have been raising money for the RUH for many years in memory of their daughter Charlotte who died in 2006 aged 23.
Greg said, “The baby care unit means a lot to our whole family. Without it, our daughter probably wouldn’t have survived. She was very poorly when she was born and they couldn’t move her to the children’s hospital in Bristol, but the unit in Bath was fantastic. It saved her life.”
Helen said, “We were quite surprised at the amount when we counted it. We’ve held bingo, cake saleas, bucket collections and we’ve taken our owl, Angel, to schools and playgroups and they kindly donated.
“Our fundraising has been on hold for a little while because Greg hasn’t been very well but he’s feeling a lot better now.
“Our next project is quite a challenge but we would like to raise money for the young boy in Westbury, Rossi, who needs a sensory room. His mum and dad are trying to raise £10,000 and we would love to help.”
