United came totally unstuck away to one of the league’s form sides on a stunning late autumn afternoon.
With a weakened team due to suspension and injury, added to Nick Taylor having to leave the pitch injured early on, they were simply unable to cope with Cribbs’ pacy attacking play with Jordan Yeo and Simon Bone, who shared five goals and created the other two, particularly outstanding.
Yeo gave his side an early 2-0 lead via a 25 yard free kick into the top corner and a fine low finish after fine play by Bone.
After Taylor’s departure Westbury had a few openings through Brett Partner and Grant Gunning who both forced Matt Turner into saves which could have made a difference, but the hosts scored their 3rd on the half hour when Bone fired in from fully 30 yards.
Cribbs came out all guns blazing after half time and went further ahead on 47 when Yeo completed his hattrick then Ashley McGrane made it 5-0 with a fine header from a Yeo cross.
In between the goal rush visiting keeper Callum Hotine made several excellent saves but the 6th goal came on 62 with McGrane adding his 2nd from 18 yards. United had a better period of play with Ryan Elliott forcing a save out of Turner before substitute Jordan Matthews was fouled and a penalty awarded which Matthews scored to notch Westbury’s consolation.
The final goal came with 5 minutes remaining and it was no surprise that Yeo set up Bone who headed into the net.
