CROSSPOINT has now been launched in Bratton, as an outpost of the Westbury branch, to provide a space where the community can go for help and advice.
Crosspoint, the Westbury -based charity, has been serving the community for over 10 years. It provides a place where vulnerable residents with either emotional, psychological, health, housing or financial needs, and who fail to make the most of statutory provided services by reason of their social, health and financial situations, can come for help and support.
The Bratton branch opened on Saturday 24th February at the Baptist Church. The church will be the temporary home of Crosspoint whilst amenities are set up at The Jubilee Hall such as a phone line and internet connection.
The Jubilee Hall committee is currently looking into applying for a grant to fund this.
Reverend Andrew Sinclair said, “We wanted Crosspoint to be in the Jubilee Hall as it is more accessible to people. However, for now, the services are up and running at the Baptist Church every Saturday from 10am-12pm.
“The time is allocated to those who wish to drop in for a cup of tea and a chat or for help and advice on applications for jobs, benefits or filling out council forms.
“We want to help those who don’t have access to the internet, give those who cannot afford the luxury a space to use online services.”
