A SPECIAL quiz and curry night at a Westbury Indian restaurant last month raised £800 for charity.
The Cinnamon Lounge on Westbury High Street was filled on 15th November as local woman Catharine Morrison hosted a quiz night in aid of the charity Sense.
Over 70 people enjoyed the feast put on by the local restaurant and the quiz with rounds including sport, general knowledge, TV and films and pop music, with a team of friends called ‘Tears on my Pilau’ coming out on top.
Catharine said, “I was amazed by the amount of people who came and I am so grateful to the local people and businesses that supported the event, especially the Cinnamon Lounge for allowing us to host it in their restaurant. £800 is much more than I expected to raise!”
Cinnamon Lounge owner Sufi said, “We were delighted to host the quiz and it was lovely to see so many people here to support the Catharine and the charity. We are very happy to host this type of event for members of the Westbury community.”
Sense supports people who are deafblind and have other sensory impairments, and Catharine will be running the London Marathon for the charity in April 2017, as well as planning another event in the spring.
