DILTON Marsh WI started the year off with a boogie when members had a visit from a fitness instructor.
Liz Lee reports, “It was an active beginning to 2017 for members of Dilton WI. A big welcome was given to Janice Moore of the Keep Fit Association who has been involved with work outs for over fifty years. She was a lady full of vigour and enthusiasm who kept everyone alert and active!
“As a child who loved to dance but had nowhere to go, Janice, on moving to the South East, took advantage of the classes and quickly progressed from member to vice chair and then chairperson.
“Our exercises began with work while sitting on a chair and then to standing and by the end of the evening full flow dance exercises to music. Janice not only instructs KFA classes but also trains others to teach older people. The evening ended with great applause.
“Next month’s meeting is a talk and instruction on Makaton, a sign language that gives everyone a helping hand to talk. Following this there will be the annual election of president and committee, and a review of the past year. Do join us for lots of fun and new friends.”
