A WOMAN from Westbury will be competing in the Sensational UK Charity Pageants in December.
Destiny Jordan, who was crowned Mrs Westbury Sensational UK earlier this year, will compete for the Mrs Sensational UK title in December.
Destiny said, “The aim of the pageant is to promote self esteem for all woman, no matter the age, race, or disability. It’s not just about beauty, it’s about having confidence to overcome challenges.
“Ahead of the competition in December, I have been raising awareness of the charity Mind which helps people with mental health issues. This is close to my heart as I suffer with mental health issues which can bring challenges to my life.
“I will also be raising money for The National Autistic Society as my two sons have autism, so the charity is important to me.
“So far I have done cake sales, car boots, a ride in a Chinook and a skydive. I plan to either try a zip line or sky walk next.
“I really enjoy the atmosphere of all the contestants getting ready and everyone being friendly and supportive. I also enjoy the challenge of having to get up on stage and talk to an audience about yourself and the charity work you’ve been doing. Of course I also enjoy the dressing up in different outfits, but it is mostly about making new friends.”
