Westbury and District Cricket Club suffered a surprising loss in their latest league game.
Westbury travelled to play Devizes in the latest Wiltshire Division League match, hoping to build on their win against Marlborough last week at home.
Westbury made two changes from last week’s win with Tom Lucas and Dan House (on his first league debut) coming in for Ronald De Freitas and Nick Whiting.
The toss was won by Westbury who decided to put Devizes into bat.
Westbury made a sensational start when they dismissed half the Devizes side out for 35, then Grant the Devizes captain, with the help of the lower ordertook the total from 35 for 6 to 141 all out. At the end of the innings Grant had accumulated 83. Senneck had the outstanding figures of 4 for 22 off his allotted 10 overs.
When Westbury batted they also made a bad start when they lost 6 wickets for 48 and Grant the Devizes captain, with the help of the rest of the bowlers, dismissed Westbury for 86. Grant had the outstanding figures of 5 for 13 off 10 overs.
This was a disappointing performance but next week is another game and hopefully they can turn things around and start a winning run again, starting again next week at home against Purton.
