Dilton Marsh is counting down to this year’s Flower and Handicraft Show. The village event, held in the Memorial Hall, has been run annually since 2009.
People have been urged to get involved this year by entering their own flowers, photography, vegetables and even decorated tea towels.
Organisers said, “We are excited for a great show and have been busy behind the scenes getting everything organised. Local businesses have been very generous and kind sponsoring the show, without this sponsorship the show couldn’t happen, so we are very grateful for their contributions, you can find a list of sponsors within the show schedule and on our Facebook page.
“We encourage people to enter, there is a wide range of classes suitable for all abilities.
“Classes include vegetables, fruit, flowers, floral art, cookery, handicrafts, photography, group display and classes for children under 16 years old.
“There is a new class in the handicraft section ‘decorated tea towel’ and the committee have some blanks you can purchase for £1.30, please contact us to get yourself one.”
The Flower & Handicraft Show in Dilton Marsh will be taking place on Saturday 26th July in Dilton Memorial Hall. Entry to exhibit in the show is open to residents of Dilton Marsh or members of Dilton Marsh organisations.
Organisers added, “Schedules are available from the following venues in the village, Dilton Memorial Hall, New Dilton Fish & Chips, Holy Trinity Church, primary school reception and The Weavers pub. If you plan to enter you will need to get yourself a copy.
“The public are invited to visit the show from 2pm, come and have a look, grab a refreshment and maybe bid in the auction of produce that takes place after the prize giving at 3pm, you can get flowers, homegrown vegetables, home-baked goods or anything else the exhibitors are happy to part with, so don’t forget to bring some cash.”
