DILTON Marsh residents are raising money through online crowdfunding to pay for an experienced planning consultant to help them object to plans to build 140 new dwellings at land south of Clivey, in Dilton Marsh.
Residents say the field in question often has deer and other wildlife visitors. They are hoping to raise the sum of £2,000 to pay for the cost of a planning consultant and, at the time of going to press, their total had reached £1,840.
Organisers of the campaign say, “Our green space is under threat! The land known by many as ‘the deer field’ is the proposed site for up to 140 dwellings. Due to its location, this will change the character of our village forever. In order to inform our individual objections, we need to employ an experienced planning consultant to help us produce well informed, relevant and robust objections referring to planning legislation and guidance as appropriate.
“This information can then be circulated to all those who are willing and able to submit an effective, individual objection, which will carry more weight with those in the planning department. We have made contact with a consultant who is willing to work with us and the target sum will allow us to use his services.”
