A glorious summer evening saw members of Dilton Marsh WI basking in sunshine while eating a delicious buffet supper accompanied by a glass of Pimm’s.
Thanks were given to president Paula Carr for hosting the event. It was reported that the lunches provided by WI members for Village Day and the tombola held for the Dilton Carnival had been a great success. Members were reminded that a quiz night would be held in October for the Dilton Cup Trophy. There was however sadness amongst members at the death of Janet Mills who had died unexpectedly since the last meeting.
A competition was held during the evening for the Dorothy Harding Craft Cup in the form of home-made cushions. First prize went to Karina but said how superb they all were.
Following the meeting at the Sutton Veny Flower Show Dilton Marsh having entered a group display for the ‘WI Friendship Award’ was commended First Prize overall for their theme and work in the best exhibit category.
