The annual Dilton Marsh WI supper party held in a member’s garden was a great success.
The ladies were welcomed by a Master of Ceremonies resplendent in full regalia, and ushered towards the magnificent buffet table and jugs of Pimms. Treasurer Sara Honor read the report from the NFWI Annual General Meeting where it was announced that current membership stood at 226,402.
It was agreed that in their 101st year there were challenges ahead and even more learning and sharing of skills. There was an 82.7% vote in favour of the resolution to campaign for the avoidance of food waste. The Dorothy Harding Cup in memory of a much loved deceased member was awarded to Eunice Stride for her beautiful table runner. The ladies then posed for a photograph taken with the Master of Ceremonies before making their way home.
Next month’s meeting on August 11th is ‘Journey of a Volunteer’ with Sarah Gardener. Come along, make new friends and have lots of fun. You’ll be made very welcome.
