The trustees of Dilton Marsh Memorial Hall say they are proud to present a night of music with the objective of not only providing a fabulous night of entertainment next month, but also raising funds for the hall.
They say, “Dilton Memorial Hall was built in 1921 and provides a community hub to the fine people of Dilton Marsh and the surrounding villages.
“Its facilities provide a welcoming environment for an incredibly diverse range of activities. It is a registered charity and is run by a dedicated band of volunteers.
“With three live bands, each delivering a very different style of music, there is something for every musical taste. A true Musical Mélange!
“First up on the evening are Coyote Country who, as the name implies, share a passion for country music and with their easy-going style, will be playing a mix of traditional and modern country music blended with country rock and bluegrass.
“Following a short interlude, The Band Of Others will hit the stage. An eclectic group of individuals delivering an equally eclectic collection of songs from rock to punk. Their moto? “Get Up and Dance”
“Headlining the event are Jook Joint, a trio of highly experienced musicians, who will be playing mainly bluesy and country rock material, with versions of great old blues songs from the golden era; driving drums, robust bass guitar, fervent vocals and silky slide guitar!
“One thing each of the bands has in common, other than a passion for live music, is they are made up of local performers, four from the village of Dilton Marsh itself.
“The event takes place on Saturday the 23rd November, with doors at 7.30pm. Tickets are priced at just £7.50 and will be available on the door or can be purchased in advance from Crowning Glory in the village . A bar serving wine, cider, beer, lager and of course soft drinks will be available on the night.
“The hall trustees, the 13 band members, the sound engineer and the many volunteers who are working towards delivering a first class night of musical entertainment, look forward to welcoming you.”
