Do you have some time to spare and are looking for new experiences, skills or new ways to interact socially?
Volunteer Centre Wiltshire are here to help. If you have a few spare hours a week or a month, can travel far or only locally, they can find a volunteering opportunity for you.
Here are just a few opportunities within the local area:
Volunteer Public Speaker: Wiltshire Air Ambulance are looking for a volunteer public speaker to give talks and make speeches on behalf of the charity, to groups and societies, so as to raise awareness.
Get Wiltshire Walking : Wiltshire Council are looking to recruit Volunteer Walk Leaders to lead groups of individuals on weekly walks. They aim to encourage people to take more physical activity and as walking is the lowest risk activity, they are working towards providing a free weekly led walk in all areas of the county so all Wiltshire residents can access this service.
Befriending/Mentoring a Young Person: VOICE are looking to fill the volunteer role of the Independent Visitor befriending a particular young person in the care system, offering them consistency, support, encouragement and a listening ear. Activities might include things like going for walks, playing sport, visiting a place of interest, trying something new or just chatting over a drink or snack. Health Champion Volunteers: CSV at BBC West are looking for health champion volunteers to work on their campaign ‘Stripping it Bare’.
