The president of the Rotary Club of Westbury, Cavan Algar, was proud to present a cheque for £1,500 to Yvonne Brunton of Dorothy House.
The money was raised during the Ultra Marathon Race in March over 32 miles. The route was from Leighton Sport Centre round the end of Salisbury Plain returning to Leighton Sports Centre.
The Rotary Club was ably assisted by the Avon Valley Running Club and the military. Over 70 people participated in the day and the event raised £3,000 which was split between Dorothy House and Whizz Kids.
The Rotary Club with the Avon Runners will be holding the event again in March 2015, and are looking forward to an even larger number of entries.
