A ROAD between Hawkeridge and Yarnbrook, near Trowbridge, was closed for four hours on the evening of Thursday 6th February, following a single vehicle collision.
Shortly after 5.00pm a silver Peugeot 306 that was travelling north on the B3097 Hawkeridge Road between Hawkeridge and Yarnbrook (in the direction of Yarnbrook) left the road and collided with a small tree and wall before coming to a stop back on the carriageway.
The driver, a 32 year old man from Trowbridge, suffered serious injuries including head and leg injuries and was taken to Frenchay hospital in Bristol.
The road was closed for approximately four hours to allow for investigation work at the scene to be completed.

Of particular interest is a cyclist who was almost struck by the Peugeot at the time of the collision.
