THIS Easter Weekend Westbury Town Council delivered 30 Easter Hampers to Westbury families, with the help of some superhero friends.
Your ‘Friendly Neighbourhood Spiderman’ helped deliver more than 100 chocolate eggs, packs of Hot Cross buns, cereal and Anchor Butter. The coalition of superheroes and town council volunteers had support from Morrisons, Arla, Cereal Partners Worldwide, Aldi and a wonderful donation from a caring resident.
We have received so many generous donations, including substantial monetary contributions from the Lions, POPCAN and Rotary that will allow us to continue to support those who need our help in Westbury.
Over thirty volunteers have been helping with shopping, leaflet dropping, collecting prescriptions, dog walking, food box packing and delivering. On average we are distributing 80 food boxes each week. Volunteers are delivering donated food & toiletries to the Food Bank in Warminster and bringing back made up boxes, ready to go to those in need. We are taking over 100 calls each week to our Neighbourhood Line Listeners (01373 859669). Members of Westbury Shed, White Horse Ministry and many of our town councillors are amongst the volunteers helping to provide this service. We would encourage people to contact us, even if they just want to hear a friendly voice.
Thank you for your support too!
