The villagers of Edington will again be holding their annual charity fund raising May Ball on Saturday 27th May.
Organised entirely by a committee of volunteers from the village, and with significant support from The Three Daggers public house, the event is now in its 13th year and has become a very firm favourite in the village social calendar.
Chairman of the organising committee, John Matthews said, “We are again extremely grateful to all the businesses that have supported us again this year, whether that is with the set up and running of the event or in donations for the raffle or charity auction, as we definitely couldn’t run the event without their support.”
This year the event will be raising money for Bath Cancer Unit Support Group; The Felix Fund, which supports the Army’s bomb disposal experts and their families who have been injured whilst serving, and local village causes. The evening includes live music from local group ‘White Horses’ and Surrey band; ‘The Weekend’ along with a sumptuous two-course dinner, a raffle and charity auction.
Paul Millard, from the organising committee said, “We started this event to say thank you to the Bath Cancer Support Unit and the incredible work it does on all our behalves – but it’s also a fantastic night out which now raises money for extremely worthwhile, but wider, group of charities and all the profits go to the charities.”
The event is again a sell-out and promises to be one to remember!
