A WESTBURY electrical company won a football tournament at Chelsea’s home ground last month while raising money for child rights charity Plan International.
Anson Security and Electrical, based on Station Road and specialising in electrical services and CCTV and alarm systems, raised £5,000 while competing against 15 other teams in the one-day event.
Company director Phil Hampson said, “After being invited to the tournament we raised £5k towards the pot which, with all companies’ contributions reached over £50,000.
“We had ten players who all play locally for The Three Daggers FC and consider ourselves very keen players, albeit not very good at the best of times!
“16 teams entered and Anson Security & Electrical managed to go on to win the whole competition with a very tight 1-0 win in the final.
“We were crowned champions by former Chelsea legend Carlo Cudicini and the Chelsea mascots Stamford and Bridget!
“It was a fantastic team effort with all ten squad members playing a massive part in winning the competition, and raising so much for a great charity made it a really amazing day and experience.
“It was our first big charity event and we were pleased to have raised the money completely between ourselves and the company.
“We have been invited back next year as champions and we are looking to raise a similar amount so fingers crossed!”
Anson Security and Electrical has supported football in Westbury for a number of years and currently sponsors the Spitfires junior team and Three Daggers FC.
