Erlestoke Golf Club Championship delivered a memorable finale at the weekend as father and son went head-to-head for the 2026 title.
Club owner Aiden Bell and his son Logan emerged as the leading contenders after the opening day, with Aiden holding the advantage and Logan tied for second alongside Oli Moss. That set the stage for a compelling father-vs-son final round.
After 36 holes, Aiden and Logan could not be separated, both finishing on 155 to force a three-hole play-off. With the scores still level after the play-off, the championship was decided on a sudden-death hole.
“It set up one of the most tense and exciting moments the club has ever witnessed,” said Steve Blazey, Golf Professional at Erlestoke. “In the end, it was Logan who emerged victorious, edging out his father by just one point to be crowned the 2026 Erlestoke Club Champion.
“It was a wonderful day’s golf, where father and son played off for club championship and the son comes of age with a magnificent win!”
The Ladies’ Championship also produced a notable achievement as Mia Blazey successfully retained her title for a second successive year.
“Congratulations to Logan on a fantastic victory and to Mia on another outstanding performance and a well-deserved championship victory,” added Steve. “And congratulations to all the competitors who took part and helped make this year’s Club Championship one of the most memorable ever.”
