Ease into the festive season with celebrations of music from the 80’s through to the youth of today, or perhaps opt for a ladies night – all these events are coming to the Memorial Theatre soon!
80’s Mania – Saturday 15th November, 7.30pm: Europe’s Official 1980’s Multi-Tribute Concert featuring 25 chart topping pop icons authentically recreated with live band and awesome dancers.
Performing over 35 chart topping smash-hits live in concert, with tributes to Duran Duran, The Human League, Kim Wilde, Culture Club, Madonna, Wham!, Nena, Toni Basil, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Bananarama, Dead or Alive, Madness and many many more!
As Ex-Radio1 and ‘Top of the Pops’ presenter Mike Read enthusiastically described, “It’s like ‘Top of the Pops meets ‘Live Aid’ with the sexy dance troupe Legs ‘n’ Co.” So it’s time to dig out your 80’s fashions and Party!
Frome Town Youth Band – Saturday 6th December, 7.30pm: Frome Town Youth Band’s Christmas Concert traditionally kicks off the festive season at Frome Memorial Theatre and is a firm favourite in the calendar showcasing the individual and combined musical talents of the youth (and not so young) of Frome and is not to be missed.
This year will include some of the players’ favourites from their 2014 repertoire ~ ranging from music marking the centenary of the beginning of First World War to renditions of chart toppers and modern classics, not forgetting the ever popular audience participation in singing of Christmas carols.
Ladies Night with Showstrippers – Friday 12th December, 8.00pm: An evening of fun and naughtiness hosted by the charming and zany drag queen – Miss Anett Curtain. Miss Curtain is one of the nation’s top drag queens, her wicked sense of humour will have you rolling in the aisles. Drag Queen comedy not to be missed!
Accompanying Anett will be two handsome hunks from ‘Showstrippers’ – providing ‘ladies night’ entertainment as only they know how!
