One of the highlights of the Christmas season is the traditional family pantomime and at Frome’s Memorial Theatre, Robin Hood & the Babes in the Wood is gearing up for a festive treat.
Nicole Wooldridge returns to the Memorial Theatre where she will be leading her Merry Men into mischief and musical mayhem in the Frome Musical Theatre Company’s (FMTC) production being performed from Monday 29th December until 3rd January 2015.
Nicole has appeared in many productions with FMTC, debuting as Aladdin in the 2003 pantomime at just 13 years old. Since then, she has played principal roles including Charity in ‘Sweet Charity’, Hodel in ‘Fiddler on the Roof’, Audrey in the ‘Little Shop of Horrors’, Cinderella and Snow White.
Starring as lovable Nurse Nellie Nickerelastic is Frome’s favourite dame Humphrey Barnes. Making a come back and dusting off his frock for the 35th time, Humphrey is looking forward to performing this Christmas, especially alongside his grandson George. George Langley and Ella Evans, both just 10, play the Babes and have already appeared in many FMTC shows; George appeared as Chip in the 2012 production of ‘Beauty & the Beast’ and Ella played Gretl, the youngest of the von Trapp children in the ‘Sound of Music’ last year.
‘Robin Hood & the Babes in the Wood’ also showcases new talent including Hollie White, Becky Hinde and Jon O’Loughlin.
Hollie and Becky have both recently appeared in the FMTC production of ‘Our House’ and play principal pantomime roles for the first time as Will Scarlet and Maid Marion. Newcomer Jon has appeared in various musicals and pantomimes in Wiltshire, and delights audiences as the jolly Friar Tuck.
Completing the playful band of merriment is Kevin Withers as Little John. Although not new to the company, this marks Kevin’s first pantomime with the group where he will play alongside step-daughter Ella Evans.
