WESTBURY raised the Commonwealth flag for the first time on Monday, to mark Commonwealth Day.
The flag was raised at the Edward Street war memorial for the first time, in the presence of Mayor Christine Mitchell, town councillors, the town clerk, and pupils from Bitham Brook Primary School.
Cllr Mitchell read out messages from the Queen and the Commonwealth Secretary General, before reading the Commonwealth Affirmation.
The flag, which is navy blue with a yellow globe, was raised when Westbury joined over 730 other locations across the world in the celebration of the Commonwealth of Nations
The Commonwealth includes all current and historic British territories, such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Gibraltar.
