Volunteers from Westbury’s food bank collected 350kg of food during a food drive at a local supermarket.
The volunteers, from Westbury Area Network (WAN), which runs the town’s food bank and community fridge, spent five hours at Waitrose in Warminster on 11th September receiving donations from customers. The drive also raised more than £135 in cash donations.
WAN trustee Jill Webber said, “We are so grateful for the generosity of the stores customers and to Waitrose for holding us.”
People wishing to donate food can use collection points at Crosspoint in the Market Place and All Saints Church in Church Street, Westbury.
Donations can also be made at the Westbury Community Fridge, which is open from 10.30am to 11.15am, Monday to Thursday, at Westbury Community Project in Eden Vale Road.
