LOCAL organisations have joined forces to give unemployed or low-wage earners the opportunity to enrol on a free construction course.
On completion of the course, participants will be able to apply for a fully-funded CSCS card, which provides proof that workers on construction sites have the appropriate training and qualification for the job they do.
Bath College in association with Work Wiltshire, Sovereign Housing and Westbury Town Council, are offering a full time course starting on Monday 27th January – Friday 7th February at The Laverton in Westbury.
The course will last for 10 days over a two-week period starting from 9.30am-5pm.
During the course, individuals will learn CSCS training, in order to work in construction, functional skills English and mathematics, essential first aid level 3, and employability skills including help with applying for jobs.
There will be two exams in English and mathematics. There will also be a practical assessment in first aid and CSCS training. Anyone over the age of 18+ claiming benefits or earning a low income may apply.
