NEXT month’s White Horse Model Engineering & Garden Railway Show will again be an entertaining and informative day out with rides and exhibits for all the family.
Taking place just one week before the iconic cement works chimney is demolished, this annual September event attracts retail trade stands and model engineering club exhibits from around the region.
The show will be held from 10am to 4pm on Sunday 11th September at the White Horse Country Park.
Organiser Michelle Richardson said, “There will be static displays of model boats, traction engines, motorcycle and hot air engines, small steam engines and railway layouts of different sizes including garden railways, all under cover.
“Outside, there’s a chance to ride on trains and model traction engines, or even have a go yourself and learn to drive a model ride-on steam engine!
“The show will cover a wide range of model engineering activities and railways, vintage and modern, with Mamod type engines for the younger or beginner enthusiast.
“Our host, the White Horse Country Park also has a licensed bar and will be serving Sunday lunches, (pre-booking essential), and general refreshments will also be available.
“Monies raised on the day will be shared with our chosen charity – Wiltshire Air Ambulance.”
Entry costs £4 per person, and children under 16 go free.
A raffle will be held with a £100 cash prize, as well as family tickets to many heritage railway sites.
