The West Wiltshire Gauge 0 Group will be holding its annual railway show again this year on Saturday, the 16th November.
This popular show which will be the twentieth show the group have put on in Westbury. The show is to be held at the Paragon Hall, Haynes Road, Westbury. BA13 3HA, 10am-4.30pm.
The entry prices are £5 adults, £4.50 concessions and Gauge 0 Guild members and £10 for a family of 2+2 and £2 for children,
The Paragon Hall is immediately adjacent to High Street car park, where there are disabled facilities. From the car park there is a slope down to the hall. There is a 2” step into the hall. Inside the hall, the floor is level. There is also a lower car park for longer paid parking and another in nearby Warminster Road. There is currently 2 hours free parking, a ticket has to be displayed.
Kieth Wareham’s 0 Gauge Test Track will once more be the centre of attraction with full length trains from all regions running. Back after an absence of three years is the ever popular Gogton Middle, The Children’s Layout. This is designed to appeal to the younger visitors to the show who may be invited to help operate the trains.
For the dedicated 0 Gauge enthusiast, Mere Abbas from the Mere and District Model Railway Club and Dave Stevens DDC controlled Isbury Road will appeal.
For the 00 enthusiast, regulars John Anderson and Paul Taylor are back with Pottendorf a German H0 DCC controlled layout.
John Cruse will be there with Bradbury Junction a layout from the steam era.
Jim Rainer with his vintage Hornby Dublo layout Hornby Road will remind us of out toy trains of yesteryear.
For the N Gauge enthusiast, Shaftesbury Parkway, showing trains of the period 1980-1994 British Outline will be operated by David Webber of the Shaftesbury and Gillingham Railway Society. Also attending will be David Webber with Sanford an N Gauge GWR layout of minimum size, just 34”x 19”.
A regular attender, the Scalextric layout operated by Verity and Ashley Jones from the Wessex Model and Toy Collectors will also be attending. Visitors may be invited to have fun and operate the cars!
There will also be a tombola and refreshments will be available.
