WESTBURY’s annual Model Railway Show will be calling at the Labour Club next weekend.
The West Wiltshire Gauge O Group will be holding its 17th annual model railway show on Saturday 12th November at The Paragon Hall on Haynes Road.
Organiser Rod Towler says, “The show covers a wide range of model railway and associated modelling subjects to interest everyone no matter what level of skill.
“This year we have invited ten layouts in all the popular scales. Of particular interest is a layout called ‘The End of the Line’. This is a beautifully modelled layout depicting the transfer of quarried material to road and rail transport. Please note the miniature radio controlled tipper lorry as it picks up material and takes it to the weigh bridge.
“There are six demonstrators showing aspects of modelling, clubs, and traders with a range of model railway items for sale. For the young at heart, Lionel will be there with his layout Gogton Middle as will Ashley with his Scalextric layout. Both these layouts can be ‘hands on’ for special visitors to enjoy the skills of railway operation and the thrills and spills of motor racing.
“The refreshments of filled rolls and cakes, biscuits and drinks, will be on offer for an enjoyable day out.”
The show is at the Paragon Hall from 10am until 4.30pm. Entry costs £4.50 adults, £3.50 concessions and Gauge O Guild members, £2 children, or £10 for a family of four.
