THIS is the last chance to get involved with, Wiltshire Council’s ‘Get Active’ programme which includes sports and activities for young people of all ages.
In rural areas, the popular, multi-sport Fun in the Sun programme has returned to 27 village venues around the county, including Dilton Marsh and Bratton, for 90-minute sessions of outdoor games, activities and sports. This programme is aimed at young people aged five to 11 years old and is free to attend.
The programme enables young people the opportunity to access multi-sport activities provided by fully qualified sports coaches on a weekly basis in their local communities. Sports delivered may change on a week-by-week basis, including tag rugby, cricket, football, dodgeball, tennis, rounders, athletics and team activities.
Children must bring with them a completed consent form. These can be downloaded from www.wiltshire.gov.uk/leisure-fun-in-the-sun or collected at their first session of attendance. Places will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis.
Local sessions are available in Dilton Marsh and Bratton on Monday 19th August. Dilton Marsh sessions take place at Fairfield Farm College from 12.30-2pm. Bratton sessions take place on the village green from 2.30-4pm.
