THE Dilton Marsh Memorial Hall committee has started a fundraising campaign to raise enough money to upgrade the lighting and sound system in the hall.
The Memorial Hall is central to village life as many events take place there and groups and organisations regularly use the space.
Chairman of the committee, Geoff Miles said, “The light and sound system at the hall has served us well for many years but unfortunately, as with all things technical, they have now passed their sell by date.
“We have started the process of updating these items and have allocated an amount of £2,500 from hall funds. We have managed to secure a grant of £2,500; however this leaves us with a shortfall of £1,000.
“We are hoping that existing users of the hall and the good people of Dilton Marsh and Westbury will help us make up that shortfall.
“The hall is a not-for-profit charity run by volunteers who are dedicated to developing and maximising use of the hall such that it serves the local community.
“We would be grateful for any donations, no matter how small.”
