BRATTON Recreation Ground has received £1,500 from Westbury Area Board to help improve facilities, as more local clubs start to use the ground.
More clubs are using the recreation ground as their home pitch, including Bratton CC Westbury CC 3rd XI Trowbridge CC 3rd XI Westbury United Development FC and Trowbridge Town FC Youths. As a result, refurbishment is needed to be made to the facilities to ensure continuation for the clubs.
Their application to Westbury Area Board stated that they are in need of funds to resurface the car park entrance, improve drainage of the pitches with sand, fence the recent car park extension, replace the worn-out line marking equipment, replace the rusting entrance gates and install a new sign board at the entrance.
To keep costs down, almost all of the work, except laying tarmac, will be done by their volunteer maintenance team.
Funding for £1,500 was approved by Westbury Area Board during the area board meeting on Thursday 7th June.
