Gasification Action Group raise valuable funds

WESTBURY’S Gasification Action Group (WGAG) received a great response during their fundraising jumble sales, raising valuable funds for the growing campaign. 

Members of the action group are raising money to gain legal advice and action against the Northacre Renewable Energy’s plans for an advanced thermal treatment plant, which was granted planning permission earlier this year by Wiltshire Council’s strategic planning committee. They held jumble sales and recyclathons at Dilton Marsh Memorial Hall and Leigh Park Community Centre. 

Dan Gmaj, member of the action group said, “We had a fantastic response, raising valuable funds for the growing campaign. We want to thank all involved in the #Recyclathon #FUNdraisers for giving, buying and above all recycling, resulting in less items ending up in landfill and more genuinely renewable community power for Westbury and our region – also the tea and cake were amazing too!”
